The ECO2 Rubber project
The ECO2 Rubber project in Guatemala is transforming degraded landscapes into thriving rubber forests, creating jobs and restoring natural ecosystems. This ambitious effort blends sustainable forest management with social empowerment, providing long-term environmental, economic, and community benefits.

Spanning thousands of hectares of restored land, the ECO2 Rubber project is bringing degraded, over-farmed areas in Guatemala back to life. By planting rubber forests, which typically sequester roughly 40 tonnes of CO₂ per hectare each year, the project provides a critical defence against climate change.
But this effort goes beyond carbon. More than 300 permanent jobs have been created, providing meaningful work for local communities. Employees receive training and support to ensure they can effectively contribute to the project’s goals, while public consultations keep the community engaged and informed.
The project’s impact isn’t just felt in the air—it’s rooted in the soil. By restoring degraded land it improves soil quality and water retention, creating healthier ecosystems that support wildlife and biodiversity. It also acts as a natural buffer, protecting waterways and reducing chemical runoff.

Join this effort to restore Guatemala’s forests and invest in a brighter, more sustainable future. Support ECO2 Rubber and be part of the change.

Certified under the Verra Carbon Standard (VCS), the world’s most widely used carbon crediting program, endorsed by ICROA.
Guatemala has experienced significant tree cover loss over the past two decades. Carbon funding to reforest these lands is supporting additional funding for communities living off and working on sustainable forest management activities, whilst supporting local nature and the climate.
