Rehiran Carbon
The Rehiran Carbon project, located in the Scottish Highlands, establishes a new mixed woodland with native Scots pine and broadleaves. The project will contribute to native woodland expansion and will bring multiple benefits to the local area.

The Rehiran Carbon project will create over 36 hectares of mixed native Scots pine and broadleaf woodland, delivering lasting benefits for both the local community and the surrounding environment. These include enhanced biodiversity, improved habitat connectivity, and long-term carbon sequestration.
Its proximity to existing woodland makes Rehiran Carbon particularly valuable for connecting fragmented habitats and strengthening the resilience of the wider landscape. The mix of native Scots pine and broadleaf species will expand native woodland habitat in the area, creating a more diverse and connected environment for wildlife.
The woodland will also provide significant carbon benefits. Over the next 75 years, it is expected to sequester more than 11,600 tonnes of CO₂, based on calculations validated under the Woodland Carbon Code. Carbon finance was critical to making the project possible, enabling land use change that would not otherwise have occurred.
As a non-intervention project, Rehiran Carbon has been designed to largely let nature take its course. Over time, natural processes will decide how the land evolves, creating a truly unique woodland ecosystem.

This is a woodland with roots in the future. By supporting the project through carbon purchases, businesses and individuals can help protect biodiversity, tackle climate change, and invest in a thriving landscape for generations to come.

Certified under the Woodland Carbon Code, the UK’s government-backed standard for carbon-funded woodland creation.
